Dropped something on hob / impact damage / cracked glass / care / replace and how to organise a repair
Issue
- Impact damage / cracked glass on hob
- How to organise a repair
Applies to:
- Induction hobs
- Ceramic hobs
Resolution
If the glass-ceramic surface/glass surface is cracked, switch off the appliance and unplug it from the mains. In case the appliance is connected to the mains directly using a junction box, remove the fuse to disconnect the appliance from the power supply. The glass top on the appliance can be replaced and we would suggest this being carried out by an authorised service technician.
You can either click the link at the side of the article to have further details or click to book a service visit online. Impact damage is not covered by the warranty so the service visit will be chargeable. Alternatively, if you would like to discuss this with one of our agents we would recommend using our live chat function.
Do not attempt to replace cracked or broken glass yourself as this could lead to injury or further damage to the hob or your property.
