Dishwasher – How to replace the float device

Always take care when moving appliances. For heavy appliances it’s safest for two people to move them. Always wear safety gloves and safety footwear. Wear safety gloves at all times to protect against cuts from sharp edges.

Before carrying out any repair or maintenance, turn off the water supply to the appliance.

Make sure to use the product only for its intended purpose and check that it’s a compatible part for the product you’re using.

Do not use or install the product if it is damaged.

Please note that doing repairs yourself or using someone who isn’t a qualified professional can have safety implications if the work isn’t done properly, and it may also void the warranty. It’s essential that you have the proper know-how.

HOW TO REPLACE THE FLOAT DEVICE

1. Remove the filter and its housing, then use a small syringe and some old towels to drain the water from the sump.

2. Unscrew the four PH2 screws holding the bottom cover of the dishwasher, then pull the cover towards you to remove it.

3. Unscrew the two PH2 screws on the top of the right-hand side panel.

4. To release the side panel, press in the three clips on the back of the panel, then pull it to the right and forward to remove it.

5. Gently lift the appliance onto its left side (make sure two people use proper manual handling techniques to lift it safely onto its side). Note: It’s recommended to place the dishwasher on a mat or towel to catch any leftover water that may leak from the dishwasher.

6. Unclip the adjusting foot from the base and then pull it towards you to release it from the foot. Make sure the foot is wound fully down.

7. Pull the base down from the front to release it from the crossbar, then pull it towards you to release it from the base.

8. Use a small flat-blade screwdriver to release the float device from its retaining clip on the base.

9. Unclip the wiring from the float device and carefully disconnect the wiring connectors from the inlet hose spade. (Note: Take a photo of the wiring position/location before disconnecting.) Be careful not to damage the connector.

10. When assembling, repeat the steps in reverse order.
